2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Game 2 – Take Two: Part Two - The Search For More Offense

The Detroit Red Wings face-off against the Chicago Blackhawks today at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

The Red Wings were dominated for most of Game One, but Detroit stuck in there until the last 10 minutes of the Third Period. Remember, the Red Wings lost Game One last series after being beaten soundly by the Ducks, so do not look to into this game.

The Blackhawks looked well rested in Game One and their penalty kill stayed perfect. The Red Wings will have to capitalize on the power play if they want to take Game Two and head to Detroit all tied up, but Corey Crawford, Jonathan Toews, and Marian Hossa will be working to that not happening.

Projected Line-up

Johan Franzen – Pavel Datsyuk – Justin Abdelkader

Valtteri Filppula – Henrik Zetterberg – Daniel Cleary

Gustav Nyquist – Joakim Andersson  Damien Brunner

Todd Bertuzzi – Cory Emmerton – Patrick Eaves

Niklas Kronwall – Jonathan Ericsson

Brendan Smith  Kyle Quincey

Jakub Kindl  Carlo Colaiacovo

Jimmy Howard

Drew Miller could return to the line-up tonight after returning from a fractured hand.

Either Todd Bertuzzi or Patrick Eaves would be taken out of the line-up to make room for Miller.

Jimmy Howard was solid in the first game of the series and will have to continue to be if the Wings have a chance at winning.

On the offensive front; Johan Franzen, Pavel Datsyuk, and Henrik Zetterberg need to produce points tonight.

The whole defensive front need to be better after Game One; better passing, better coverage, and better on offense.

Prediction: First prediction in a long time. Red Wings tie the series at 1 a piece with a 3-2 victory.

Griffins Note: The Griffins beat the Marlies yesterday and lead the series 3-1.
