2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Game 6 – A Win Or Go Home Night For The Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings are back in Hockeytown for Game 6 against the Anaheim Ducks, puck drop is 8:00 p.m. EDT.

The Red Wings are coming off of their first overtime loss of the series and facing elimination tonight. Justin Abdelkader makes his return to the ice after his two game suspension and he is ready to play. This game will come down to goals, Jimmy Howard can only do so much if the Wings cannot put pucks past Jonas Hiller.

The Ducks now have a stranglehold on the series with their win in Anaheim and want to close out the series tonight. Expect hard hitting hockey and possibly some dirty tactics to throw the Red Wings off of their game. The Wings will have to battle and claw their way to a win tonight.

Projected Line-up

Henrik Zetterberg – Pavel Datsyuk – Justin Abdelkader

Johan Franzen – Valtteri Filppula – Daniel Cleary

Gustav Nyquist – Joakim Andersson  Damien Brunner

Todd Bertuzzi – Cory Emmerton – Mikael Samuelsson

Niklas Kronwall – Jonathan Ericsson

Brendan Smith  Kyle Quincey

Jakub Kindl  Carlo Colaiacovo

Jimmy Howard

With the return of Justin Abdekader, either Todd Bertuzzi or Mikael Samuelsson will be taking a seat.

Daniel Cleary was injured in game 6, but has said he is ready to go tonight.

The Wings could see some changes on defense as well, Brian Lashoff has not been very good these past couple games.

The Wings’ third line will have to make up for their lapse in game 5 tonight, maybe by scoring another game winning goal.

Prediction: No prediction today, the Red Wings just have to win.

UPDATE: Patrick Eaves will be sitting tonight, Bertuzzi and Samuelsson join Emmerton on the 4th line. Brian Lashoff is out as well, Carlo Colaiacovo is in in his place.
