Preview: Red Wings Need To Prey On Predators For Points

The Detroit Red Wings host the Nashville Predators in Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 p.m. EDT.

The Red Wings are coming off of a big win last night and will want to ride that same wave of emotion again tonight. The Wings have not been good against Nashville orin back to back games this season, but if there was any time to change that tonight would be the night for it to happen.

Nashville is looking to be a spoiler tonight and they would love to be able to do it against the Wings. Despite their record, the Predators still have Pekka Rinne in net and Shea Weber on the point, which will make this a very tight game. If the Wings want to keep their playoff destiny in their hands tonight though, they must win.

The Red Wings penalty kill continues to deliver in key situations for the team, which is exactly what the Wings need.

There was not a bad line on the ice for Detroit last night, everyone gave 110% and it showed.

Todd Bertuzzi could return to the line-up tonight, but I wouldn’t change a thing after the way they played last night.

Jordin Tootoo, Cory Emmerton, and Patrick Eaves get a special mention her though because they continually manufactured chances when on the ice.

Even with a solid reason to be mad at Brendan Smith last night for his turnover in the 1st, which almost led to a goal, he had a pretty solid game.

Playoff Picture – The Red Wings currently sit in 8th place with 52 points, 1 ahead of Nashville and 4 ahead of Dallas. To see which sceneries could still play of visit this link.

Prediction: Red Wings ride their emotion from the big win last night and take Nashville head on. Red Wings victory 3-1.
