Kyle Quincey Out 4 To 6 Weeks

Kyle Quincey was injured on March 15th against the Edmonton Oilers, when a Jordan Eberle shot rode up his stick and hit his cheek.

It was not known at the time how bad the injury was because the Oilers do not have an X-ray machine in the building, but Quincey did not join his team on the trip to Vancouver. Instead he was flown to Detroit where he underwent an X-ray to determine how bad of an injury he had.

News broke that he had a fractured cheekbone, but it is unknown whether he will undergo surgery or if it will be left heal on its own.

Either way, Quincey will be out of the line-up for at least 4 weeks and it could easily turn into more than that.

Ian White will replace him on defense and Kent Huskins time in Detroit will be extended at least until Carlo Colaiacovo returns from injury.

Get well soon Quincey, I will miss seeing your number 27 patrolling the blueline.
