Brendan Smith Gave Red Wing Fans A Silver Lining

Sorry in advance for this article not being about Jennifer Lawrence, but I think you will enjoy it anyway.

In the Red Wings shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, Brendan Smith took on Derek MacKenzie.

It all started on February 2nd against the Blue Jackets, when MacKenzie hit Smith in the corner, in the first period. I thought it looked a lot like Jordin Tootoo‘s “charging” penalty and Smith did not forget about it.

Now back to the Red Wings-Blue Jackets game on March 10th, Smith passed the puck out from the corner and MacKenzie once again took a run at Smith, this time though Smith was ready and dodged it a bit. Once Smith realized who had hit him, he immidietely tried to goat MacKenzie into a fight. It took Smith a while to get MacKenzie to fight, but at center ice he decided to oblige Smith and the result was this.

MacKenzie was hoping to catch Smith a bit off guard by rushing into him while dropping the gloves, but Smith was ready.

So enjoy one of the few positives from last night and get ready for the March 13th match-up against the Calgary Flames and Jiri Hudler.
