Thoughts on the Schedule

The Red Wings will begin and end the season on the road, St. Louis and Dallas respectively.

Carlo Colaiacovo makes his trip back to St. Louis for the Red Wings season opener.

Former Red Wing Jiri Hudler is bringing Gangnam Style (Courtesy of 3rdRoundDraftPick) back to Detroit on February 5th.

The Wings play the Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues 5 times during the season, while playing the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators 4 times.

A condensed schedule creates a lot of back-to-back game and the Wings will be playing 12 of them this season.

The Red Wings will need to play consistent hockey this season in order to make the playoffs. Any losing streaks will not only hurt their chances, but could ruin them all together. Jimmy Howard and Jonas Gustavsson will have to lose their rust quick, the defencemen will have to step up, and the forwards will have to score early and often.

Time to get this season under way. Let’s Go Red Wings!
