With less than a week to go until the current CBA expires, Owners and Players are hard at work making sure that a new deal is getting done. Good joke right?
According to the Sporting News, no new meetings between the two sides have been scheduled.
NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly to SportsBusiness Journal on Sunday afternoon: “We remain a long way apart. We need to hear again from the Players’ Association before this can move forward.”
The league maintains that it will lock out the players on Sept. 15 without a new deal.
Daly said the two sides were in touch over the weekend, but there have not been any formal discussions since a pair of meetings on Friday.
Honestly, I am not expecting any progress to be made at this point. I guess we will have to see when the lockout is a few weeks old to see if one of the two sides cave.
Oh and by the way, GO LIONS! Solid win over the Rams, can’t wait until next weekend when they take on the 49’ers.
