Henrik Zetterberg won't play in Sweden in case of a lock out

In an interview with Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Detroit Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg confirmed that he won’t be playing in Sweden if a lockout ensues.

Zetterberg said that he wants to see the process through and has no plans on leaving North America if the NHL and NHLPA can’t come to a new CBA agreement by September 15th.

Zetterberg also said that most of the older players in the league won’t dart off either as they as well want to see what happens.

Red Wings defenseman Nick Kronwall has already been hinted that he may want to go play for Djurgården but there is also some speculation that he may come to the KHL to play alongside his brother Staffan.

In other news, Sportsnet did an interview with Red Wings GM Ken Holland and one of the topics discussed was who could potentially end up being the Wings next captain. Holland confirmed that it would be one of the players who had worn  an “A” last season(Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Kronwall) but didn’t say which one. I have few doubts that it won’t be Zetterberg but nothing will be official until opening day. Here is a clip from the interview where Holland talks about his future captain:
