This is going to be a short post, as I’m currently on my second hour of lunch at work (went to my car to watch the press conference). Also, every single person at work is cutting onions outside of my cube, so it’s hard to see the screen…
You know all the stats. You know all the accomplishments. You know how perfect he is at everything ever. You don’t need me to tell you any of this.
I just wanted to say “Thank You” to Nick. I’ve had the honor of meeting him a few times and he was always awesome. Very friendly and easy to talk to. Just an all-around perfect person. I’m going to miss him.
I know I wrote that it was time for him to retire. I still stand by that. That helped me mentally prepare for today as I didn’t totally lose it…yet. Time to get back to work before I do.
My name is Kevin. I was born and raised in Metro Detroit. I live for hockey and the Red Wings. A youth goalie turned defenseman slugging it out in the D-Leagues. Gustav Nyquist rules. Mikael Samuelsson sucks.
