Is It October Yet? Wild Transition

It’s September; and we have reached one more milestone before the start of the 2011-12 NHL season.

With the countdown until October and reaching that final threshold before the puck drops in the regular season Fansided is going to take a look at each team in the league one day at a time.

Heading into the hockey wilderness today we check in with the Minnesota Wild.

The Wild hold a special place in my heart; and not just because of their captain Mikko Koivu but lets face it – he doesn’t hurt. My first hockey writing was with The Hockey Writers to write about the Wild and from there I even joined the staff of Hockey Wilderness where I took a walk on the Wild side of Detroit.

Jared Crozier from SenShot wrote the Fansided Wild Preview as we are currently looking for someone to take over the blog for this coming season.

Martin Havlat – Led the Wild with 22 goals and tied for team scoring lead with 62 points, dealt to San Jose

Andrew Brunette – Veteran was third on club scoring, signed with Chicago

Brent Burns – 4th leading scorer and top scoring defenseman, off to San Jose

Antti Miettinen – Departed for KHL

John Madden – Solid role player still unsigned

Chuck Kobasew – Signed in Colorado

Jose Theodore – Signed in Florida

Cam Barker – Bought out, subsequently signed with Edmonton

Todd Richards – not getting the job done behind the bench resulted in a pink slip
