H2H2 raises over $14,000

Last weekend was H2H2 in Detroit.

What is H2H2 you might ask? Well it all started last year when some of the Red Wings Bloggers and fans from not only around the Detroit area, Michigan, the United States, and Canada came together to fly Herm 2 Hockeytown (H2H) from Brazil for his first ever live hockey game.

Everyone came together to watch a game, hang out, and raise money for charity. It was such a huge success they decided to do it again. This time Herm couldn’t make it but Anders aka Andy made the trip from Oslo, Norway.

For months Red Wings fans have been putting money on the board mostly organized by those over at The Production Line and setting their own pledge amounts – anything from $20 for every Red Wings win to $1 for every time “Livonia Native Ryan Kesler“ is mentioned in a game versus the Vancouver Canucks. In one night over $700 was raised via Twitter. Fans claimed that if former Red Wing Darren McCarty would ReTweet the H2H2 information they would donate money – he did.

Between all the pledges and the donations they raised over $14,000 was raised for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

George Malik from The Malik Report on Kukla’s Korner had this to say about the event:
