Red Wings @ Penguins Preview

I couldn’t resist!
While looking for a pic to sit atop the preview, I ran across this gem. I couldn’t find a credit for who created it, but, thank you whover you are.(Note: neither of these players are playing in this game.)
The Detroit Red Wings will be heading to Pittsburgh toworrow night to take on our biggest Eastern conference rival at the Consol Energy Center. We are going into the game tomorrow night amidst our biggest injury count(hopefully) of the season. The penguins are also having injury woes. Maybe equally detrimental to ours, they are missing Sid Crosby for the 6th straight game.
The Penguins are however, learning how to live in a Crosbyless world. After going 0-2-1 in their first 3 games after Crosby was injured, the Penguins have taken their last two. On wednesday, they had an impressive 5-2 win against the Canadiens, then on saturday a 3-2 win against boston. Not bad. After starting his season at the winter classic on January 1st, Stall has finally hit his stride recording 5 points in the last 2 wins(2 goals 3 ass.). The penguins wish the same could be said about Malkin, who has only notched a couple of assists while skating around like a lost puppy waiting for Crosby to pass a bone his way.
Detroit is doing whatever they can to get a point or two each game. Saturday’s 6-5 OT win over Colombus marked our fourth overtime in five games. But at this stage in the game we will take a point when we can. With both Osgood, and Jimmy out tomorrow we will have to rely on Macdonald to stop enough shots so our guys can have a shot out there. But let’s be honest, Mac is going to let goals in, probably a good deal of goals. He had an 83% on saturday, so I don’t expect anything better tomorrow, especially against the Penguins. Luckily along with our lackluster goaltending our skaters are out there working their asses off. Zetterberg has notched 6 goals and 11 assists since Datsyuk was injured. Miller has 5 points in the last 2. We are getting scoring from wherever we can. On saturday our Dmen collectively had 2 goals and 4 assists. Everybody is putting in the work out there, doing whatever they can, wherever they can. Even bertuzzi, who said in fridays game which saw Jimmy out with a bruised knee, that if something happened to Mac he would pad up and do what he could between the pipes. Don’t believe me? Check out the video emergency goaltending.
Looks like we got our work cut out for us tomorrow night! Give ‘em Hell guys! Go Wings!
