He’s baaaaaaaaack.

After a two-week conditioning stint in Grand Rapids, the Red Wings have decided to avoid placing defenseman Jakub Kindl on waivers by reclaiming him.

In his first full season with the Red Wings, defenseman Jakub Kindl has shown his fair share of inexperience. However, he is also the top-ranked defensive prospect in our system and has a lot of upside. It is quite rare for a player to make the jump to the big stage and dominate right away.

Sure you can argue certain top prospects in the draft have done it before, plenty of times, but no one ever claimed Kindl to be the next Drew Doughty, Tyler Myers, or P.K. Subban.

As it currently stands the Red Wings do not need a first or second shift blue-liner and adding Kindl to the 3rd line rotation with Ruslan Salei and Jonathan Ericsson can only help to keep the Wings fresh and sharp along the blue line.

Good luck Jakub and here’s to you helping us to some more victories!
