Well, the schedule has not been “easy” lately.
With games against the Kings, Blues, Blackhawks and Stars in their last four, the Wings take on another highly ranked Western Conference team tonight–the Vancouver Canucks.
Vancouver leads their division and comes in 3rd overall in the West. Powered, as usual, by the stellar play of both Sedin twins the Canucks have potential to reach the Stanley Cup this year. With other stellar players all over the ice in Ryan Kesler, goaltender Roberto Luongo, grinder Manny Malhotra, rock solid defesneman Christian Erhoff, and former Red Wing–and 30 goal scorer last season–Mikael Samuelsson, the Canucks will not be an easy victory.
If any team is up to the task, however, it is Detroit.
Look for Pavel Datsyuk to have another great game as he has moved into 4th overall in the NHL in total points. Also, with Jimmy Howard back in net the Wings have a great chance to win statistically as Howard’s 17 wins ranks second in the league.
Should be a great game and one that is dramatic from start to finish. Let’s hope the Wings can avenge an overtime loss to the Canucks from earlier this season!
Puck drops at 7:30 people!
