First off, sorry for the lateness on this update. Decided to sleep in this Sunday as I, for the first time this year, had no work to get done.
Now to the game, the surging Wings (11-3-1) got off to another early lead when Todd Bertuzzi sent a seed from the right faceoff dot past Colorado goaltender Peter Budaj.
Bertuzzi later assisted on Detroit’s third goal, another from scorching forward Danny Cleary.
Jiri Hudler also added a goal for Detroit, giving him points in back to back games.
For Colorado the lone tally came via defenseman John-Michael Liles who is off to a quick start this season for the Avs.
Jimmy Howard debuted his newest goalie mask in great fashion for Detroit, picking up the win in front of an electric hometown crowd–making 21 saves on 22 shots faced.
Next up the Wings take on their Central Division foes–the St. Louis Blues.
Game starts at 7:30 this Wednesday and can be viewed on Fox Sports Detroit. It is the fourth game in a six game homestand for the Wings.
