Inside the mind of a Sharks fan for game 5

Ever wonder what goes inside the head of a Sharks fan? Based on the Sharks’ history in the playoffs (current season included) they generally do not like the Wings, and if someone doesn’t like the Wings they’re just not right in the head. All joking aside, I had a chance to discuss game 5 with Mike Landolina from Blades of Teal and asked him the following questions…

What worries you the most about the Wings?

The fact that they have been here before and know what it takes to win a championship. What also concerns me is their puck control and possession. But mainly their veteran leadership.

What is the biggest weakness of the Sharks?

Our third line defense (Demers and Huskins) and the fact that Nabby loses it once in a while. AKA Meltdown.

Who is the most underrated Shark?

Ryan Clowe and Doug Murray. Clowe is so physical and he can score. Murray is physical and a definite presence when the Red Wings cross the blue line. Also under-rated is Scott Nichol. He is a major grinder and does all the dirty work.

What two players would you like to see fight and who would win?

Zetterberg and Thornton. Obviously Big Joe.

Who wins and what’s the score?

I think the Sharks will close it out tomorrow night in SJ. If not this series is going to be coming back to SJ for game 7, and you can flip a coin if that happens.

Many thanks to Mike for taking the time to answer my questions.  As a Wings fan, I hope that our best players play like our best players and that Nabby buckles under the pressure and has a melt down to force game 6.  The match up between Hank and Big Joe is an interesting one, but Big Joe looks pretty bloody after Hank hits him with his Conn Smythe.  I’m cautiously optimistic about the Wings chances Saturday night, we’ve seen a team that can play head and shoulders above the competition, and I hope that is the team that comes to play.
