Well, again, just when things look bleak for the Wings, they put together two solid games to give us hope, and this time, things ARE looking like they may be on a huge upswing.
With players coming back, and an offense that seems to be clicking at the same time as Howard is putting together a couple of solid games in net together.
I am also hoping that this is the beginning of a big winning streak that will put the Wings in a good spot heading into the Olympic break.
I know that in my last blog I was pretty negative. It’s just that seeing the wings struggle like they have been, it is something that I think most Wings fans can easily say they are not used to. However, with the past two performances, they are starting to look like a team that no top seed in teh west will want to deal with come the opening round of the playoffs.
Also, kudos goes out to head coach Mike Babcock. He has really done a great job keeping the team together and keeping them just in the hunt to just make the playoffs.
After a great win over the Avs on New Year’s eve, With the Swedish duo of Lindstrom and Holmstrom stepping up tonight, hooking up twice, and Howard standing on his head a few times, the wings are at 48 points at the halfway point of the season. That is a bit lower than we are used to, but again, still in the hunt for a playoff spot with the injury bug flying rampant throughout the Wings locker room. With Kronwell, Mule and Hank set to come back soon, the Wings should be in good shape the rest of the way, barring they can stay on the ice.
In closing, I apologize yet again for the length between posts. I was hoping to get on last night to talk about the Colorado game, but my computer has come down with a nasty virus, so I had to come into my office to write this one. I will still try to keep up the best I can.
Here’s to hoping for a better second half in 2010.
LET’S GO RED WINGS!!!!!!
