A new low

For the most part I have tried to keep pretty optimistic about the Red Wings.

I am still optimistic about the team being better once players start coming back from the disabled list, but seeing them get shutout twice by the Blackhawks is very hard to swallow.

It started when I saw Hossa come on to the ice tonight, thought I might throw up (think I did a little in my mouth) then to watch Patrick Kane lead Chicago to another win while the Wings struggled to get anything going as a hot-headed collage football coach once said – “Makes me want to puke!”

I am afraid that even if we start getting guys back in a matter of weeks, It might be to late for Detroit to make the playoffs, or get a respectable seed. I know that even if we are a seven or eight, we have enough talent to make a one or two seed nervous, but still not where I want to see my team.

And not that I am throwing in the towel, but a playoff with out the Red Wings would make for a disappointing summer, especially when you look at what the Tigers might look like in 2010.

I am sure that Jeff over on the Blackhawk blog is hooping and hollering like its 1961 all over again (the last time Chicago won the Stanley Cup).

Anyway not much positive feeling right now, I just downed two pudding shots because it was the only type of alcohol I could find at the moment, but I guess (or hope) things can’t get much worse in Hockeytown then they are right now.

Hope to be in a better mood when I write my next entry. Try and have a Merry Christmas.
